Benson Plumbing & Heating first came to the Auburn-Opelika in 1929 and plumbed the first women’s dormitory on the Auburn University campus. The Benson family provided many customers in the Lee County area with quality and affordable service and parts. Their store on College Street was the place to go for hard to find parts for many years. Mr. Benson retired in 1998 and sold his business which we acquired that October. We still consider Mr. Benson a part of our family and we know who to call when no one else knows th answer!
AirCon Heating, Cooling, & Refrigeration had been in business in the Lee County area since 1982. After many years of hard work and dedication to his customers, the owner decided to sell his business as well. We acquired this business in July of 1998.
Upon the aquisition and merging of these two businesses, along with the experience and mechanical skills the new owner and staff brought to the business, we branched out and became a more diversified combination of the two businesses. We then changed our name to AirCon Mechanical, LLC & Benson Plumbing. As we well knew, the Benson name had too much history and honorable reputation to not be continued.
We are now able to offer many quality services to our customers and look forward to doing just that for many ears to come! As local homeowners and business owners, we believe that the Auburn-Opelika community is the best place to live and own a home and/or business. As parents, we also believe that Auburn-Opelika is the best place to raise children and we support our communities’ youth through work in our children’s schools, PTA, Boy Scouts and local church youth groups. We strive to help you protect these valuable assets. Our goal is to serve you with prompt, courteous, professional and quality service and give back to this great community as much as possible since we are blessed to be a part of it!
